Earlier this summer we kicked off our second annual Summer Reading Challenge. The goal of the challenge was to encourage elementary school students to participate in the Summer Reading Club and to meet their reading goal (read 10 books).
The schools were grouped into three regions – East, North and West. The school from each region with the highest percentage of students who reached their reading goal would get a trophy to display in the school’s library. They get to keep their trophy all year and defend their title next summer. The winning school’s library also receives a $50 gift card to Barnes & Noble.
The winning schools are…
Mehfoud Elementary wins the East with 8.6% of students reaching their reading goal.
Glen Allen Elementary wins the North with 22.5% of students reaching their reading goal.
Kaechele Elementary wins the West with 24.3% of students reaching their reading goal.
Congratulations to these schools and thank you to EVERYONE who participated!
