Help us design your new library!

5 Nov

Want to contribute the the design of two new Area Libraries? Here’s your chance.

There will be two community meetings about the new Varina Area Library later this month. They will be held at the Henrico Theatre, located at 305 East Nine Mile Road, on November 27 at 3pm & 7pm. Architects from BCWH will be there and seeking input about this exciting project.

We are also welcoming your input for both the new Dumbarton and Varina Area libraries via this online survey anytime through November 28.

In addition to the survey and meetings we invite you to show us what you like about libraries and what you’d like to see in the new Henrico Libraries. Use images or words. They can be from around the country, world or your imagination. Give us a short sentence on what inspires you! We will feature your submissions on a Flickr stream that will be featured here.

Entries should follow these guidelines:

Photos or Drawings

  • Photos must be in JPEG format
  • 5 megabyte maximum (minimum resolution of 640 x 400 pixels at 72 dpi)
  • Credit the photographer if you didn’t take the picture

Words

  • 200 word maximum
  • Prose or poetry is welcome

Submit your ideas to LibraryConcepts@henricolibrary.org. Please include your name and contact information. If you reference a particular library let us know which library it is.

Please submit your entries by November 28, 2012.

This is a great opportunity for you to discuss your hopes for the future replacement of the Varina Library.

This Henrico County construction project was made possible by the 2005 Henrico Bond Referendum.
