One day at the library…

Monday, April 23rd was Snapshot VA day at the library. It’s an annual project sponsored by the Library of Virginia  and Virginia Library Association that highlights the impact libraries have on their communities on a typical day.

So, what happened on that day?

  • 12,964 – the number of books, audiobooks, DVD’s, CD’s, Magazines, eBooks and eaudiobooks checked out.
  • 89 – the number of new library cards issued
  • 71 – meetings held in our libraries
    • 303 people attended those meetings
  • 14 – library programs done by library staff
    • 180 people came to those programs
  • 2069 – computer sessions
  • 2,689 – reference questions answered
  • 7,462 – people visited one of our libraries
  • 133,721 – people visited our website or online catalog

That’s just one day!
