(Guest post by Niki at Twin Hickory)
At Twin Hickory Library April is that time of year when birds are chirping, flowers are blooming, and little plastic bricks cover every available display surface. April is the month of our Lego Display Contest. Participants of all ages were invited to make original Lego designs and leave them on display for the entire month at the Twin Hickory. The public voted on their favorite in 4 age categories.
The votes have been counted and the 2012 Lego Display Contest winners by category are:
“Duel on Mustafar” by Noah R. Age Group 15 and up
“Star Wars themed T-46 Skyhopper and military base” by Nicholas J.
Age Group 11 – 14
“Ultimate Fort Miles” by Miles N. Age Group 7 – 10
“Fort Starfighter” by Rohan K. Age Group 6 and younger
We also awarded a Staff Pick prize to Parth K. for this cool model of Twin Hickory Library.
Look! There is even a Minifigure crawling through the hole in the Children’s area!
The 3rd annual Lego Display Contest was a huge success. We had 106 imaginative creations entered this year. All participants did an excellent job. We are always impressed by the creativity and skill. In case you missed the other fabulous entries, check them out at our Flickr site. The staff and library visitors look forward to every April, when the library is taken over by Lego. Now go forth and start designing your winning creation for 2013!
